About

Grace Gatsby

Grace grew up performing in a 3-piece folk band with her dad in the Black Hills of South Dakota. She started playing piano, guitar, and clarinet as a child and was writing songs by middle school. Her compositions and musical styling cover a broad range, vocally topped with “…a delightfully husky intensity, which she employs both on breathy rock ballads and Bjork-like wails… ['Amazing Grace', Kat Kerlin, Reno News and Review]."

She moved on to study vocal technique and guitar at the Musician's Institute in Hollywood. In 2003 she fell in love with Reno on a visit. After deciding to make it her home, she immersed herself in the rich arts community. She established the art-rock band The Grace Gatsbies, performing sold out shows. Grace was awarded a Nevada Arts Council 2013 Artist Fellowship for Performing Arts, vocals.
